There are plenty of other activities from kayaking and nature tours to bicycling and days spent at the beach. It is about a 45 minute drive to downtown Charleston to the north.
Other facilities at the resort including a number of outdoor pools, shops and recreational activities. Nature is the number one attraction and guests can enjoy bird watching, alligator walks, loggerhead turtle viewing and there are 10 miles of nature trails which you can explore by foot or bike.
The resort has plenty of choice when it comes to dining and refreshments. At The Market at Town Center, you can eat in or take out at Kiawah’s neighborhood market, with a delicatessen featuring daily specials and a wide variety of grocery items, newspapers and gifts. The Market is open for breakfast, lunch & dinner.
At the Inn Side Scoop you can enjoy hand-dipped ice cream, shakes, floats, sundaes and malts plus a selection of novelty candy. Sample Freshly roasted oysters, BBQ and more at Mingo Point where you can dance to live music and enjoy the sunset views over the Kiawah River. Dine poolside at The Night Heron Grill where you will find a range of sandwhiches, burgers and salads.
The Southern Kitchen is the perfect place to start every day at Kiawah. Located in the Straw Market at West beach, enjoy all day breakfast items such as specialty omelets, chicken and waffles, blueberry pancakes and praline French toast plus several lighter options. For lunch they also serve a variety of salads and sandwiches.
At The Sanctuary there is the The Ocean Room, Kiawah’s signature steakhouse. Jasmine Porch, which serves traditional Lowcountry-style cuisine. Loggerhead Grill, A tropical oceanfront cafe offers poolside dining while for those with a sweet tooth there is Beaches & Cream for quick snacks and decadent sweets.
There are also plenty of golf club dining opportunities with the Cherrywood BBQ & Ale House at Osprey Point, Tomasso at Turtle Point and the Ryder Cup Bar and the Atlantic Room at the Ocean Course.
