Historic Charleston is 90 minutes south of Pawleys Island. Finally,  head south about 2 hours and you come to wonderful Hilton Head Island.

Given that Charleston includes the island resorts of Wild Dunes and Kiawah, that effectively makes for 6 destinations within a few hours drive so plenty of relaxing and not too much driving.

If you are flying into Atlanta or Charlotte you can also incorporate a few days on Lake Oconee at the Ritz-Carlton Reynolds as part of your itinerary.

The South West

Alternatively, explore the South West with one of our Arizona fly drive packages. Fly into Phoenix International Airport and start your stay in Scottsdale, Arizona and explore the wondrous Sonoran Desert. From there we can arrange an itinerary which also takes in Sedona, just 90 minutes drive north of Scottsdale. Then, just 2 hours further north and you can discover one of America’s greatest attractions, The Grand Canyon.

We can also add additional destinations to any trip using our extensive contacts, built up over many years in the business.

introduction to our american destinations

Below you will find an overview of our American destinations. With so much to see and do in this vast continent we decided to start with what we know. We have spent many years exploring this great country. This is our chance to share our experiences with you. Below is a summary of our current destinations. Be sure to check out the individual destination pages for more complete information.

South Carolina beach resorts

The coastline of South Carolina boasts a wonderful variety of destinations, offering a myriad of activities, attractions and, of course, many ways to relax. At the North end, Myrtle Beach boasts a wide range of beachfront accommodations, many family attractions and more ways to shop than you can imagine! There are two major shopping, dining and entertainment centres. Broadway at the Beach and Barefoot Landing.    Although known as the ‘golf capital of the world’, of the 14 million visitors, only 1 million are golfers. Myrtle Beach is primarily a summer family resort so pack the costume, sun lotion and flip flops and head to ‘The Grand Strand’.

Marriott Myrtle Beach
The Marriott Myrtle Beach Resort

Just 30 minutes south of Myrtle Beach is the hidden gem, Pawleys Island. The oldest seaside resort in America, the island itself still has evidence of the summer homes of rich plantation owners from Charleston. Now, Pawleys Island offers pristine, uncrowded beaches, waterways teeming with wildlife, quaint shopping malls, fine dining and more. Area attractions include Brookgreen Gardens, Huntington Beach State Park and Hobcaw Barony. We love it so much we bought a home here in 2003! It is also home to some of the highest ranked golf courses in South Carolina, if not America.

Also, Fort Sumter, where the opening shots of the US Civil War took place and Patriot’s Point Naval Museum.  Accommodation ranges from the island resorts of Wild Dunes and Kiawah, to elegant Downtown Hotels.
